Mastering Actions

Using the Actions Widget in iOS

For short interactions with tasks, the Actions iOS widget provides quick access to your day’s scheduled Actions and a button to add a new Action Card. Widgets, which were introduced in iOS 10, appear to the left of your Home or Lock screens and feature scaled-down versions of an app.

How to Add the Actions Widget

The first step to using the Actions widget is adding it to the widgets screen. This can be performed in two ways: Haptic Touch and the “Edit” menu in the widgets screen.

With Haptic Touch

  1. Press and hold on the Actions icon on the Home screen
  2. Tap “Add Widget”
  3. Head over to the widgets screen to verify the widget was added

In the Widgets Screen

  1. Visit the widgets screen and scoll to the bottom
  2. Tap “Edit”
  3. Scroll until you see Actions and tap the green ➕ icon
  4. Tap “Done” and verify the widget was added

After adding the widget, you can arrange its position by tapping “Edit” in the widgets screen and dragging it above or below other apps.

Using the Actions Widget

The Actions widget’s convenience comes in viewing and adding Action Cards for the current day. When you have Action Cards assigned under “Today,” these will display in the widget. By default, one card will be shown – however, tap “Show More” to see the rest of the day’s Cards. These Action Cards carry the same organizational system as found in Actions, including their titles and List colors.

You can also add Action Cards to Actions by tapping the black button next to the first Action Card. Doing so will launch Actions, prompting you to provide all the relevant information and categories.

Tapping on an Action Card in the widget can launch Actions, too.
