Why do I need an Actions membership?

With an Actions membership, you’re helping the continued support and addition of features within Actions. Though the membership only costs less than a couple of dollars per month, your subscription helps us actively develop Actions and provide support to you along the way.

How long is the Actions free trial?

After you download Actions, you will have seven days to try out Actions with its full feature set. During these seven days, Actions will function in its full capacity; when the trial expires, Actions will revert to a read-only mode. If you choose not to buy an Actions membership after the free trial, any data you saved in the app will remain, but you will not be able to add or act on Action Cards.

What are the differences between the iPad and iPhone versions of Actions?

Both the iPad and iPhone versions of Actions contain the same feature set. Though there are small differences due to device specifications (3D Touch, screen size), neither versions have unique features absent in the other.

How do I request a feature in Actions?

We love receiving ideas for new Actions features. The easiest way to request a feature is by navigating to “Help” in the Actions Menu and tapping “Feature Request.” Alternatively, you can visit https://bonobo.canny.io/actions.

Is my data private?

Although your data is stored on our servers for syncing purposes, we do not view your data in any capacity. To find out more information about our privacy policy, visit https://www.iubenda.com/privacy-policy/8288750.

How do I set up my calendars in Actions?

For your calendar events to appear in Actions, you’ll first need to download our iOS calendar app, Timepage. When you launch Timepage, you’ll go through the steps of adding your iOS calendars to Timepage, as well as signing in with an account. If you sign in with the same account in both Timepage and Actions, your calendar events will populate in Actions.

How do I recover deleted Action Cards?

Deleted Action Cards can only be recovered within a short window of time by using the button icon undo icon immediately after deleting an event. When the timer expires, there is no way to recover these deleted Action Cards.

Does Actions work with Siri?

It does! When talking to Siri, you can tell it to add Action Cards, check and create Lists, summarize your day, and more. For more information on working with Siri, check out Using Siri and Actions.

How do I add my Action Cards to Timepage?

Action Cards will appear in Timepage when you have Actions and Timepage installed on your device and have signed in with the same account in both apps. Action Cards must be scheduled in order to appear in Timepage.

How do I edit swipe gestures? 

The direction of swipe gestures in Actions can be edited through the “Swipe right to complete” toggle in the “Actions” preference.

Does Actions work on my Apple Watch?

Currently, there is no Actions app for Apple Watch; however, you can snooze and complete Action Cards through the reminders feature. If you have a reminder set for an Action Card, you’ll receive a push notification to your devices alerting you about a task. On the Apple Watch, you can choose to snooze or complete the task – the latter will move the Card directly into Logbook.

Does Actions have a dark mode?

Yes! Actions’ dark mode is available on both iPhone and iPad and can be activated either manually or automatically. Read more here: Day/Night Mode.

What languages does Actions support?

Currently Actions fully supports:

  • English
  • Japanese
  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Italian
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Russian
  • Portuguese (Brazilian)

Your iPhone must be set to one of these languages for Actions to appear in that language.

Brazilian Portuguese

We’ve chosen to support Brazilian Portuguese due to user numbers, but there is plenty of overlap between the two versions – especially when written. Some Portuguese speakers may need to add Brazilian Portuguese in the iOS Settings app under General > Language & Region. By tapping “Add Language,” you can add Brazilian Portuguese as a second option followed by English. After doing this, apps will first attempt to function in Portuguese (pt-PT), then Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR), then English.

Is Actions draining my battery?

We’ve optimized Actions to run effectively on your device. If, in iOS’ battery settings, you see Actions taking up a significant chunk of your battery usage, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Actions is the source of your draining battery. In the battery screen, these numbers are relative – for example, if Actions has used 20% of your battery, it has only used 20% of the battery you’ve used thus far. Therefore, if you still have a battery at 95%, Actions has used 1%. When considering Actions’ impact on your battery, take note how much of the overall battery you’ve used and what percentage of that drain Actions makes up.

How can I retrieve crash logs from my iPhone or iPad?

While troubleshooting an issue, we might ask you to send us crash logs. You can get the crash logs by syncing your device with iTunes on your computer and then finding the log files on your computer. Alternatively, you can find crash logs directly on your iPhone or iPad.

Mac

  1. Get crash logs from your device

  2. Sync your iPhone or iPad with iTunes using these instructions from Apple. The crash log files will be synced to your computer.

  3. Open a Finder window and select Go to Folder… from the Go menu (or press Shift-Command-G). A dialog box should appear.

  4. Copy and paste the following into the box and press the Return key: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice

  5. Open the folder name of the device you’ve synced.

  6. Select the most recent or relevant crash logs. The name of each log file will include the app, the date and time the file was created, and the device, such as:

Windows

  1. Get crash logs from your device

  2. Sync your iPhone or iPad through iTunes using these instructions from Apple. The crash log files will be synced to your computer.

  4. Copy and paste the following into the address bar and press the Enter key: %APPDATA%\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\

Get crash logs directly from your iPhone

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to: “iOS Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics -> Analytics Data”.
  2. You will see an alphabetical list all crash logs on your device.
  3. Scroll down to Actions, and tap on the most recent Actions log.
  4. Either tap the share button in the top right corner, or copy and paste the whole contents of the log into your reply to us.
